BIOGRAPHY

JARED KLINGHOFFER

Jared Klinghoffer is a music producer, mix engineer, and recording engineer based in the Los Angeles and California Bay Area. Since starting the trumpet at age 10, he was transfixed by music and its impact on other people and himself. He began pursuing music seriously by age 14 and studied extensively with Bay Area trumpet legend Mike Rose and renowned composer Michael Miller (Solid Gold, 1984 Olympics). His musical pursuits have allowed him to perform with Wynton Marsalis (9x Grammy Award Winner, Pulitzer Prize) at the 2022 SFJAZZ Gala, and study with Arturo Sandoval (4x Grammy Award winner), Bobby Shew (Horace Silver, Maynard Ferguson) and Jay Rizzetto (Frank Sinatra, San Fransisco Ballet) among others.

While still expanding his capabilities as a performer, Jared wanted to explore other lanes of music. He was first introduced to audio production and mixing by Michael Miller. Since then, he has been mentored by Brian Malouf (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Stevie Wonder) and Mark Needham (The Killers, Dolly Parton, 12x Grammy nominee).

Jared began work as producer and engineer in Los Angeles, and has since worked with vast array of different collaborators including Ervin “EP” Pope (2x Grammy winner), Mic Ferrante (Emmy winner) Kelley James, Dominique Danielle, Ingrid Griffin, MATHUR, Alrick Bainton, Carmichael Castaños, Tarek Tohme, Joerg Stoeffel and many more.

Jared uses his extensive background as a performer of jazz, classical, and pop music to inform his work as a producer and engineer. He feels equally at home producing a country-pop record as he does mixing a hard-hitting hip hop track or recording an intimate jazz quartet. He prides himself on being a adept collaborator that possesses both the technical know-how and musical fluidity to effectively bring any artist’s vision to life, whether they have their whole album ready or are still figuring out where the treble clef goes.

In his free time he can be found eating copious amounts of dried mangoes and drinking sparkling water by the gallon. People like playing cards with Jared!
